Honey Festival

One of the most famous festivals of the region that takes place in the village of Prina in honour of the local product, namely honey. It is organised by the Cultural Association of the village on the first weekend after the Fifteenth of August (there is no fixed date as it is not linked to a religious celebration). As expected, the event features traditional Cretan music, lots of fun and dancing until sunrise and all visitors are offered products made of honey (e.g. loukoumades, melomakarona, etc.). Participants have the opportunity to purchase natural honey and honey-related products from local beekeepers.
