Latsida

Latsida is located at the north-western edge of the Mirabello plain, at an altitude of 250m and just 2km away from Neapoli. The village is essentially a rural village whose economy is based on agricultural production. The oldest mention of the village dates back to the Venetian occupation of Crete (1369). Surrounded by a magnificent landscape and close to the village, we find the church of Panagia Keragoniotissa (14th century), dedicated to the Dormition of the Virgin Mary. Its walls are decorated with interesting frescoes.
