Milatos

The beach of Milatos is a lovely fishing village with scenic taverns, serving fresh seafood. The beautiful beaches, stunning natural beauty, and unique combination of mountain and sea bedazzle all visitors. A village with rich history that goes back to the Homeric Epics. The history of the cave of Milatos is quite remarkable. This is where in February 1823, during the Ottoman occupation, 2,000 women and children were slaughtered by Hassan Aga who plundered Lassithi.
