Archaeological Collection of Neapoli

The Archaeological Collection of Neapoli was created before WWII and in just a few years it managed to include around 1000 items, mostly from the area of Mirabello province and other areas of Lassithi Prefecture. During the WWII Occupation by the enemy forces, the collection was protected in the basement of the Club.

The collection includes:
– Findings from the excavations at Elounda by the French School of Archaeology (1937)
– Findings from the excavations at Ellinika by the French School of Archaeology (1937)
– Findings from the excavations at Driros by the French School of Archaeology (1937)
– Findings from the excavations of a Late Minoan tomb at Tourloti (area of Sitia) by Emm. Mavroidis
– Findings from the excavations of a Hellenistic tomb at Kalo Chorio (ancient Istron) by Emm. Mavroidis
